2017 Speakers

KEY NOTE SPEAKER:

Dr Damania aka ZDogg MD

I’m Dr. Zubin Damania, MD, an internist and the founder of Turntable Health, an innovative healthcare startup that was part of an ambitious urban revitalization movement spearheaded by Zappos.com CEO Tony Hsieh. During a 10-year hospitalist career at Stanford, I somehow won clinical teaching awards while simultaneously maintaining a shadow career performing stand-up comedy for medical audiences worldwide. My videos, created under the pseudonym ZDoggMD, have gone epidemically viral with over 160 million views on YouTube and Facebook, educating patients and providers while mercilessly satirizing our dysfunctional healthcare system.

In Las Vegas, we made the leap from satire to actionable change by implementing an innovative model of healthcare delivery that promotes wellness at both the individual and community level. Turntable Health, a membership model team-based primary care ecosystem, was a ground-up effort to get healthcare right by restoring the primacy of the human relationship, a concept we call “Health 3.0“. My mission as a keynote performer is to teach others what we’ve learned, while inspiring both personal and system transformation through storytelling, humor, and music.

Before 2005, travelers did not have an organization committed to representing their interests, nor a unified voice within the industry. PanTravelers was founded to fill that void. There was and is still an immense amount of myth and misinformation circulating among both travelers and agencies. We recognized a need for an authoritative source of accurate information available to all travelers with a goal of helping travelers avoid the common pitfalls that can affect their careers. We are growing rapidly, and with our growth we are better able to influence industry practices. PanTravelers is the only voice exclusively dedicated to traveler's interests.

Since 2011, my ability to effectively communicate directly with the nurses has proven to be a successful attribute as the MAS Medical Staffing Nursing Team Manager. The nursing team and its members continue to grow and develop due to the relationships I have fostered and encouraged amongst them.

Being in the medical staffing industry for over 10 years, I've found my calling at MAS Medical Staffing, attracted by their personal service and mission of aligning the nurse’s goals with fitting placement opportunities. Many nurses have been with me from the start of my career, sharing their needs, wants, and traveling experience. I truly believe in taking the time to know the nurses’ that I work with like their favorite foods and birthdays is the “Lagniappe”, which separates good recruiters from outstanding recruiters.
