This blended learning for ACLS, PALS, or BLS is per AHA rules open to ALL new, expired, or renewing students.
Unsolicited testimonial from Phil: You can do the online portion at your own pace - stretch it out over an evening or even several days if you want - then you'll spend less time in a classroom for the Skills Session review and checkoff - and you're done! This is especially recommended for those who suffer from test anxiety because you can repeat the online scenarios and final exam until you pass, and the instructor will make sure you know what you need to know to pass the skills portion.
- Complete the AHA online portion for BLS for Healthcare Providers part 1 and/or for HeartCode® ACLS or PALS Part 1 before you come to the conference.
- Print the Online AHA Certificate(s) and bring them with you to the Skills Session.
- You may either register for the skills session at the same time as the main conference, or anytime up until Sept 6th.

7th Edition Textbook:
The Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) offers education based on the 2010 American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP)/American Heart Association (AHA) “Guidelines for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Emergency Cardiovascular Care: Neonatal Resuscitation Guidelines.” It is designed for any healthcare professional involved in the delivery and care of newborns. This class is for recertification for those that are current or who have expired and currently working in an area that requires it . For those people who have never taken NRP, or do not work in an area where it is actively required, this course is NOT recommended.
Additionally, there is no longer a distinction between Certification and Renewal. All students will take the online examination and then participate in the same activities at the NRP Course. However, participation will be tailored to the experience of the student.
This is a convenient & low stress way to keep current on this certification. Learning time is designed to learn/refresh skills of Neonatal Resuscitation & is not a pass/fail testing session.
