TravCon 2018 is at Bally's on the Las Vegas Strip. We have secured a fabulous rate for the conference here at Bally's. Distances are large here on the strip, do yourself a favor and stay in the hotel where everyone's at. Thank you to everyone past, present, and future for booking in advance through our hotel block, you help to make this event possible.
Bally's, Las Vegas has a covered parking garage that is shared with The Paris Hotel & charges $12/day to all guests (sadly, including TravCon attendees). Valet parking is also available when space allows for $20/day. Parking is free for guests with Platinumn, Diamond or Seven Stars status on their Total Rewards cards. Do yourself a favour and use rideshare when possible to avoid these ridiculous fees.
The main airport in Las Vegas is McCarran International Airport (LAS). Southwest is the most dominant airline that operates out of McCarran and they offer great rates. There are several options on transportation from the airport:
From the Airport:
Lyft and Uber are currently authorized to provide ride sharing services at the airport. Simply arrange for a ride using the app on your smart phone or mobile device. Designated pick-up locations at LAS airport are listed below. Drop-offs are allowed directly to airport's departure curbs.
From Terminal 1, Ride Share pick up is located on level 2M of the parking garage.
From Terminal 3, Ride Share pick up is located on the Valet level of the Terminal 3 parking garage.
Several shuttle companies operate from McCarren International Airport to the Las Vegas strip and downtown Las Vegas with rates from $8-11 one way. Travel arrangements can be made outside of the baggage claim area for one-way or round trip transport. Round trip fares are slightly less than double the one-way fare. Reservations are recommended for a timely return to the airport.
Terminal 1: After collecting your luggage, exit the baggage claim area via Door 11 (behind Starbucks) and proceed right to the SuperShuttle ticket booth to speak with Customer Service
Terminal 3: After collecting your luggage, proceed to the SuperShuttle ticket booth to speak with Customer Service. The SuperShuttle booth is located outside of Door 52, to the right of the baggage claim.
If you are looking for a luxury Las Vegas experience, then walk-up limousine service may be the best option for you. Sedans, stretch limousines, and SUVs are available to whisk you and your friends away to your destination in comfort and style.
The average price of a taxi from the airport to Bally's is $25. Follow the signs in the airport to the taxi line up outside. The taxi cab industry in Las Vegas is very tightly regulated by the Nevada Taxi Cab Authority. You can catch a cab outside the baggage claim area at the airport or at the main entrance of any hotel. A little known fact is that Las Vegas cabs are prohibited by law from stopping for a customer on the street ...even if the cab is empty! Taxis may only pick up at hotels and established pickup points.
MaCarran Airport has a central location for Las Vegas car rental companies. When you get to baggage claim, look for signs to the shuttle that will take you to the Rent-a-Car-Center. The shuttles provide free 24-hour service to all rental car customers. The Blue and White McCarran Rent-A-Car Center shuttle buses depart every 5 mins for the 3 mile trip. ***Parking is no longer free at most hotels in Vegas. Usual rates are $12/day for guests***
Walking around in Vegas:
Vegas blocks are enormous. Just getting from your room to the front lobby can take 15mins!! Plan extra time for anything transportation related. Book your shuttle for 2hrs ahead of your flight leaving to allow enough time for all the inevitable delays.
